Montreal (Quebec) July 19, 2004 – 8D Technologies Inc. announced today that Sun Microsystems is now demonstrating its uniquely advanced 8D ECO technology at its Menlo Park (California) based Executive Briefing Center. Installed in the sprawling facility, the revolutionary Java-based wireless e-payment solution will thus be available to Sun’s world-wide network of clients and developers. 8D Technologies joined Sun’s iForce Partner Program in May 2004 and 8D ECO was a star product at Sun’s JavaOne conference (June 2004) where it received a prestigious Duke’s Choice Award and was enthusiastically introduced to the VIP crowd by Sun’s CEO, Scott McNealy.
The Executive Briefing Center is a large high-tech facility built by Sun to facilitate the demonstration, for a prolonged period, of third party integrated solutions – based on Sun’s technologies – to the world’s most sophisticated clientele. Besides advanced POS and parking payment systems, the 8D ECO platform allows for the quick development and implementation of countless M2M (Machine-to-Machine) applications.
"Sun’s direct involvement in marketing 8D ECO represents the most credible endorsement of our technology”, said Isabelle Bettez, President and CEO of 8D Technologies. "Not only has our product been recognised by the undisputed leader in advanced wireless Java applications, but it is now concretely visible to the world’s most sophisticated customers. We think this is the beginning of a very fruitful relationship.”

The Java based 8D ECO powered parking terminal (center) is part of the most powerful secure wireless POS e-payment and management system on the market today. Next to the terminal, David Coulthard’s Formula 1 McLarens – also packed with Java technology – is also in fast company! http://www.sun.com/ebc |
